LEAD PASTORS
Tim and Fanny Scarbrough

FOUNDING PASTOR
Joseph Jenkins

WORSHIP LEADER
Jay Tredway

History
Our Founding Pastor, Joseph Jenkins, felt the need to begin a new work that preached the fullness of the God's Word. He wanted to see more of an emphasis on who we are in Christ and the healing power of the Holy Spirit for each of our lives.
In the summer of 2022, Joseph, along with Randy Doty, became aware of a church building that was being sold at auction in Altoona, Kansas. With a set amount in mind, Randy made the final bid and on September 25, 2022 Agape Sozo Christian Church held its first services at 1030 Main St.
Not feeling the call to remain the lead Pastor of the church, Joseph and others began praying for a like minded Pastor to come alongside the congregation and lead the church.
Through divine intervention, Tim and Fanny Scarbrough connected with Joseph and on March 2, 2025 they began as the new Pastors of the church.

Statement of Faith

The Bible
All scripture is inspired by God and is infallible. It is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17)
God
There is only one true and eternal God, who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(1 John 5:7; John 1:1, 14)
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is today at the right hand of Father.
(Luke 1:26-35; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9; Colossians 3:1)
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is present with us today, convicting the world of sin, righteousness and judgment. He brings comfort and counsel to the believers. He empowers the believers to live a holy life. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in other tongues, along with all the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which are still in operation today.
(John 16:8; Acts 2:4, Acts 19:6, Corinthians 12:7-11; Galatians 5:22-25)
Salvation
Salvation is a free gift from God given to those who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and believe that He has been risen from the dead. All sins are forgiven for those who repent of their sins. In doing so, one is born again and brought into the family of God for eternity.
(Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9; 1 John 1:9; John 3:3,16)
The Church
The church is comprised of all believers with Christ as the head. As such, the members of the church fulfill various roles according to their God-given abilities. The believers are to regularly meet to encourage one another in their walk with Jesus Christ.
(Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 4:11-12; Romans 12:4-8; Hebrews 10:24-25)
Return of Jesus
Jesus Christ will one day return to set up His kingdom on earth. This will be a literal and physical return. During this time, the believers will receive their eternal reward and the unbelievers will be judged according to their deeds.
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Colossians 3:24-25)
